WAVE V Order TODAY

Turn the tide, no matter the odds!

Available to order in stores and online NOW is the fifth wave of World of Tanks releases and they are formidable! Two Medium Tanks join the ranks; the venerable German Panther and the iconic American M4A1 Sherman, now up-gunned and even deadlier. We also have a new heavy joining the fray in the shape of the near unkillable Churchill VII, and finally, to keep the others in their place, is the deadly Soviet Tank Destroyer – the IS-152.

Panther

The Panther is a powerhouse in every sense of the word with great mobility and firepower allowing you to really run the tank hard on the battlefield. All of this does come at a slight cost however – Weak Flank means that it is susceptible to shots coming in from the side and rear which means you may want to buff it’s initiative stat. Enhanced Suspension is a cheap way to gain a additional point in the movement phase, whilst driver Phil Stulpnagel can improve it even more and adding the sort-after Smooth Ride ability.

ISU-152

When you need big, bad and ugly it is hard to go past the ISU-152. This tank destroyer is designed to sit in a concealed position and destroy enemy tanks whilst being impervious to enemy fire thanks to a survivability stat of 2, Fortress, which helps to keep the tank safe when being shot in the side, and the benefits of being a Tank Destroyer which improves the tanks survivability when concealed. If there is one downside the ISU-152 it would be the relatively low initiative, but this can be improved by adding Situational Awareness to your radio operator.

M4A1 Sherman (76mm)

The M4A1 Sherman (76mm), much like it’s slightly less powerful brother, is one of the most recognisable tanks of World War II and can be counted on to perform reliably in almost any role on the battlefield. It bring a solid set of stats with a firepower of 5 standing out amongst the crowd meaning you can get away with little to no upgrades. Of course if you want to make a good thing better, then it is hard to beat a Vertical Stabilizer to give your tank an advantage on the move, whilst the Wright Continental R-975C4 engine that enhances your tanks initiative can benefit both M4 Sherman variants, as well as the “yet-to-be-released” M18 Hellcat (can someone say “spoiler”?).

Churchill VII

The Churchill VII could never be confused for a race car but what it lacks in mobility it more than makes up with when it comes to a survivability stat of 3! The Churchill VII takes more to put down than an angry elephant! The Churchill VII is also very interesting as it comes with a couple of great options to enhance the tank to your specific needs. Swap out to a Churchill IV turret and slightly reduce your survivability, but gain the Fortress rule, or upgrade the gun to the OQF 77mm Gun Mk. II to gain an additional firepower at the cost of some of your initiative.

Wave V brings some fantastic and versatile tanks that can take your platoon to the next level. These tanks, as well as all new Crew, Module and Upgrade cards, bring some great flexibility that can help you make a perfect force for any situation.
